Description

Almond croissants are a decadent treat with a flaky, buttery exterior and a creamy, sweet almond filling. These French-inspired pastries are perfect for breakfast or brunch and are surprisingly easy to make at home. A perfect indulgence for any pastry lover!

Ingredients

  • 4 croissants (preferably day-old)

  • 1/2 cup almond paste

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Slice each croissant in half horizontally to create a “pocket.”

  • In a mixing bowl, combine almond paste, sugar, butter, flour, vanilla extract, almond extract, and heavy cream. Stir until smooth and well-blended.

  • Spread the almond filling generously inside each croissant.

  • Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet.

  • In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the croissants.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and slightly crispy.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Notes

Storage: Store leftover almond croissants in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.Reheating: To reheat, place croissants in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5-7 minutes to regain flakiness.
