Description

Pepperoni pinwheels are a bite-sized appetizer combining pepperoni, melted cheese, and puff pastry, creating a savory and flaky snack that is perfect for any party or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of pepperoni slices (about 2025 slices)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a flat surface to smooth out any creases.
  3. Evenly spread the shredded mozzarella cheese over the puff pastry, leaving about an inch around the edges.
  4. Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese, ensuring they cover the surface evenly.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder and red pepper flakes (if using) over the pepperoni for added flavor.
  6. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the puff pastry into a tight log, ensuring the filling stays intact.
  7. Once rolled, slice the log into 1-inch pinwheels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops of the pinwheels with olive oil, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and puffed up.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
