Description

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix), peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apples with granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and 1 tbsp flour. Spread evenly in prepared dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine 3/4 cup flour, oats, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or fingers until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until topping is golden and apples are bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
