These Apple Pie Tartlets are a mini version of the classic apple pie, featuring a buttery crust and warmly spiced apple filling. Perfect for holidays, gatherings, or a cozy treat at home.
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and cored
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 package pie dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: coarse sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin or mini tart pans.
- Roll out the pie dough and cut circles to fit into each muffin cup or tart pan, pressing gently into the bottom and sides.
- In a bowl, mix the diced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
- Spoon the apple mixture into the prepared crusts.
- Top each tartlet with a small piece of butter.
- Optionally, add a lattice crust or cut-out dough shapes on top.
- Brush the crusts with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the crusts are golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let tartlets cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
