Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup plain yogurt (or Greek yogurt)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the yogurt, oil, and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
