Description

Banana pudding no bake dessert is a creamy, layered Southern classic made with pudding, bananas, whipped topping, and cookies. It’s fuss-free, no-bake, and perfect for gatherings or holidays.

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz whipped topping (Cool Whip or similar)
  • 67 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers or graham crackers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened.
  2. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. If using cream cheese, beat until smooth and fold into the pudding mixture for extra richness.
  4. Fold in whipped topping until creamy and well blended.
  5. In a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl, layer cookies on the bottom, followed by pudding mixture, then a layer of sliced bananas.
  6. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding and cookies on top.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften.
  8. Serve chilled, topped with extra whipped topping or crushed cookies if desired.

Notes

Vanilla wafers are traditional, but graham crackers, shortbread, or Oreos work as substitutes.Use banana pudding mix for stronger banana flavor.Toss banana slices in lemon juice to reduce browning.Best eaten within 24–48 hours for freshest taste. Not freezer-friendly due to pudding and banana texture changes.
