Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, soak breadcrumbs in milk for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add breadcrumb mixture and gently combine—avoid overmixing.
  5. Shape into a loaf and place on the prepared pan.
  6. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard in a bowl.
  7. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, then spread remaining glaze on top.
  9. Continue baking 15–20 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  10. Rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
