Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • Ground beef
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Egg
  • Onion (finely chopped)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Ketchup
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Dijon mustard
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil or butter

For the Gravy:

  • Mushrooms (sliced)
  • Onion (sliced)
  • Beef broth
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  • Shape mixture into oval patties.
  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions and mushrooms until soft and lightly browned.
  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to coat.
  • Gradually add beef broth, stirring continuously to form a smooth gravy.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
