Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 cups milk (whole or buttermilk)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Pour melted butter into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Stir in milk until just combined—do not overmix.
- Pour the dough over the melted butter in the dish.
- Spread evenly with a spatula, allowing butter to seep into the dough.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Cool slightly, slice into squares, and serve warm.
