Description

Buttered Noodles are a simple, comforting dish made with pasta tossed in melted butter and seasoned to taste. A quick, budget-friendly favorite that’s perfect as a side or main meal for kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (egg noodles, spaghetti, fettuccine, or your favorite shape)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove minced garlic
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  4. Return hot pasta to the pot and add butter.
  5. Stir until the butter is melted and evenly coats the noodles.
  6. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the butter sauce.
  7. Season with salt and optional pepper to taste.
  8. Optional: stir in garlic, Parmesan, and parsley before serving.

Notes

Use salted butter if preferred, but reduce additional salt accordingly.Best served immediately, but can be stored and reheated easily.Add vegetables or protein for a more filling meal.Try lemon zest or chili flakes for extra flavor.Use as a base for Alfredo, tomato, or pesto sauces.
