Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 6 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat if needed.
- Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in chopped cabbage and cook for 5 minutes until it begins to wilt.
- Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
- Stir in cooked rice and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
