Description

Cajun Butter and Mushroom Steak Bites are tender steak cubes seared to perfection and coated in a flavorful Cajun butter sauce with earthy sautéed mushrooms. A perfect balance of heat, richness, and texture, this dish is quick, savory, and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to your heat preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamy sauce)

Instructions

  1. Season the steak cubes with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak cubes and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and sliced mushrooms. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms are golden brown. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Return the steak cubes to the skillet and toss with the mushrooms. For a creamy sauce, stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or fresh chili peppers to the sauce. If you prefer a dairy-free option, substitute the butter with olive oil and omit the heavy cream or use a dairy-free cream alternative.Feel free to swap the mushrooms for other varieties like shiitake or portobello for different flavors.Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet for 4-5 minutes. If you want to add cheese, sprinkle some grated Parmesan or crumbled blue cheese over the dish before serving.
