Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus more for rolling)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
- Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in crushed candy canes and chopped nuts if using.

- Allow cookies to cool for 5–10 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
- After fully cooled, roll cookies in powdered sugar a second time for a snowy coating.
Notes
