Description
Cannoli Dip is a creamy, no-bake dessert inspired by traditional Italian cannoli filling. Made with ricotta, mascarpone, and mini chocolate chips, it’s perfect for dipping with graham crackers, fruit, or waffle cones.
Ingredients
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (well-drained)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (plus extra for garnish)
- Optional toppings: chopped pistachios, orange zest, cinnamon, or crushed cannoli shells
Instructions
- Place the ricotta cheese in a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer and drain for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- In a large bowl, combine the drained ricotta and mascarpone cheese. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated and fluffy.
- Fold in most of the mini chocolate chips, reserving some for garnish.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for the best texture and flavor.
- Serve with dippers like broken waffle cones, graham crackers, biscotti, or fresh fruit.
Notes
Drain ricotta thoroughly to prevent runny dip.For a lighter version, use part-skim ricotta and less sugar.Customize with cocoa powder, citrus zest, or spices for different flavors.Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Stir before serving.Not suitable for freezing due to texture changes.
