Description

Caprese Skewers are an easy, elegant appetizer featuring cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, and basil leaves, finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. They’re a no-cook, crowd-pleasing bite perfect for parties and summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 23 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
  • 20 toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain and pat dry the mozzarella balls.
  • Assemble each skewer: thread a cherry tomato, a folded basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball onto a toothpick or mini skewer.
  • Arrange the finished skewers on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Use multi-colored cherry tomatoes for a vibrant presentation.
  • Cut larger mozzarella balls into bite-sized pieces if needed.
  • Add a slice of prosciutto or a cube of avocado for variation.
  • Wait to add the balsamic glaze until just before serving if preparing ahead.
