Caprese Skewers are an easy, elegant appetizer featuring cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, and basil leaves, finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. They’re a no-cook, crowd-pleasing bite perfect for parties and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 20 cherry tomatoes
- 20 fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
- 20 fresh basil leaves
- 2–3 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
- 20 toothpicks or small skewers
Instructions
- Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain and pat dry the mozzarella balls.
- Assemble each skewer: thread a cherry tomato, a folded basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball onto a toothpick or mini skewer.
- Arrange the finished skewers on a serving platter.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.
Notes
- Use multi-colored cherry tomatoes for a vibrant presentation.
- Cut larger mozzarella balls into bite-sized pieces if needed.
- Add a slice of prosciutto or a cube of avocado for variation.
- Wait to add the balsamic glaze until just before serving if preparing ahead.
