Ingredients
- 1 large baguette or Italian bread loaf
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and salt until combined.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Switch to broil for 1 to 2 minutes for a golden, lightly crisp top, watching closely.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Fresh garlic provides the best flavor, but garlic powder can be used in a pinch.void over-buttering to keep the bread from becoming soggy.Best served immediately while hot and crispy.
