Chef Salad is a classic, protein-packed salad featuring crisp lettuce, savory meats, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, and fresh vegetables, all topped with your favorite dressing. It’s quick to prepare, customizable, and perfect for a healthy meal any time of day.
Ingredients
- 4 cups lettuce (romaine or iceberg), chopped or torn
- 1 cup cooked turkey or chicken breast, sliced or cubed
- 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, sliced into strips or cubes
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, sliced into strips or cubes
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, quartered
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup cucumbers, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup croutons (optional)
- Your favorite dressing (ranch, blue cheese, Thousand Island, etc.)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash and dry the lettuce, then chop or tear it into bite-sized pieces. Arrange it on a large serving platter or in individual bowls.
- Prepare the toppings by slicing or cubing the turkey, cheeses, and vegetables. Halve the cherry tomatoes and quarter the hard-boiled eggs.
- Neatly arrange the turkey, cheeses, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and hard-boiled eggs over the bed of lettuce.
- Add croutons if using, and lightly season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately with your choice of dressing on the side or drizzled on top.
