Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 1 cup dried cherries (roughly chopped if large)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla and almond extract (if using).
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in dried cherries and chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
