Description

Chocolate bark is an easy, no-bake treat made by melting chocolate and topping it with nuts, dried fruit, and other flavorful add-ins. Perfect for gifting or snacking, it’s endlessly customizable and ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, white, or a combination)
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, pistachios, walnuts)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (e.g., cranberries, cherries, apricots)
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt
  • 2 tbsp candy pieces, coconut flakes, or crushed pretzels (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon or chili powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or in the microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it evenly into a 1/4-inch thick layer with a spatula.
  4. Immediately sprinkle chopped nuts, dried fruit, sea salt, and any optional toppings over the warm chocolate.
  5. Gently press toppings into the surface so they stick.
  6. Let the chocolate bark set at room temperature for about 1 hour, or place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until firm.
  7. Once hardened, break the bark into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use tempered chocolate for a glossy finish and better snap, though it’s optional.Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.Avoid freezing to prevent chocolate bloom and texture changes.Layer or swirl different types of chocolate for a marbled look.Great for gifting—wrap in cellophane bags or parchment-lined boxes.
