Description
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Turkeys are a fun and festive no-bake Thanksgiving treat made with fresh strawberries, melted chocolate, and candy decorations to resemble cute little turkeys. They’re perfect for holiday dessert tables or as edible gifts.
Ingredients
- 12 fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
- 1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (or melting wafers)
- 24 candy eyeballs
- 36 candy corn pieces (for feathers and beaks)
- 12 mini pretzel sticks, halved
- Mini marshmallows or additional melted chocolate for attaching decorations
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Hold each strawberry by the leafy stem and dip into the melted chocolate. Let excess drip off and place flat-side down on the prepared sheet.
- While the chocolate is still wet, press three candy corn pieces into the back of each strawberry to form “feathers.”
- Attach two candy eyeballs near the tip using a dab of melted chocolate or mini marshmallow.
- Cut a small triangle from a candy corn piece and attach it under the eyes as the beak.
- Break pretzel sticks in half and insert two into the base of the strawberry to resemble legs.
- Let the decorated strawberries set at room temperature or in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve immediately or store in a single layer in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Use room temperature strawberries for best results.Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help chocolate adhere.Get creative with variations like white chocolate, red sprinkles for wattles, or colorful cereal feathers.Best enjoyed within 1–2 days for optimal freshness.Avoid freezing, as strawberries can become mushy after thawing.
