Description
Churro Crack is a sweet and addictive dessert bar that layers buttery toffee over crisp crackers and finishes with a warm cinnamon-sugar topping. A quick, easy treat with the irresistible flavors of a churro.
Ingredients
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers or graham crackers (about 40 crackers)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: melted white chocolate or caramel for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- Arrange the crackers in a single layer to cover the baking sheet completely.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Bring to a boil and let bubble for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers and spread it quickly with a spatula.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the hot toffee layer immediately after removing it from the oven.
- Let the Churro Crack cool completely at room temperature for 30–60 minutes until set.
- Once cooled, break into pieces. Optionally, drizzle with melted white chocolate or caramel before serving.
