Churro Saltine Toffee is a quick and easy dessert that combines salty crackers, buttery toffee, and a sweet cinnamon-sugar topping for a deliciously addictive treat perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and spray with nonstick spray.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer to cover the baking sheet.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until it reaches a boil.
- Boil the mixture for 3 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
- Quickly pour the hot toffee over the crackers and spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 5–7 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- While baking, mix the cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small bowl.
- Remove toffee from oven and immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 30–60 minutes until fully set.
- Break into pieces and serve or store.
