Description

Cream Cheese Banana Bread is a rich and ultra-moist twist on the classic banana bread, made with softened cream cheese blended into the batter for added tenderness and subtle tang. It’s perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in chopped nuts, if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread light and tender.Add chocolate chips for a dessert-style twist.Make it into muffins by adjusting the bake time to 20–25 minutes.Store wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
