Description
Crispy cheesy hash brown patties are golden brown on the outside, tender inside, and filled with melty cheese. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a versatile side dish, these patties are easy to make and freezer-friendly.
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Oil or butter, for frying
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess water with a kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, mix grated potatoes with cheddar, Parmesan, egg, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into patties, pressing firmly to hold their shape.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel–lined plate. Serve hot.
