Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, dark cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chunks or chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers are slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
