Description
Doritos chicken tenders are crispy, cheesy, and bursting with bold flavor thanks to a coating of crushed Doritos chips. Baked or air-fried, these juicy tenders are the ultimate party snack or fun family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders
- 2 cups crushed Doritos (Nacho Cheese or flavor of choice)
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1 tbsp hot sauce (mixed with eggs)
- Optional: ranch or spicy mayo for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or set air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut chicken into strips if not using pre-cut tenders.
- Set up a dredging station: one bowl with whisked eggs (and optional hot sauce), one with flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and one with crushed Doritos.
- Dredge each chicken strip in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then press into the crushed Doritos to coat well.
- Place coated chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, or air fry for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.
