These Onion Ring Chips are a crispy, crunchy twist on classic onion rings. Thin onion slices are coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and baked until golden, creating the perfect snack or appetizer for dipping.
Ingredients

2 large onions, thinly sliced into rings

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 large egg

1/3 cup milk

1 cup breadcrumbs or panko

1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- Cooking spray or 1–2 tablespoons oil for baking
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Separate the onion slices into individual rings.

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

In a second bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.

In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated parmesan cheese.

Dip each onion ring first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.

Place the coated onion rings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

Lightly spray or brush them with oil.

Bake for 15–18 minutes, turning once halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.Make sure the onion rings are spread out on the baking sheet so they crisp evenly.Lightly coating them with oil helps them brown and crisp better in the oven.These onion ring chips are perfect with ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, honey mustard, or spicy mayo.An air fryer version works great at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through.
