Description

French Chocolate Silk Pie is a luxurious, no-bake dessert with a smooth, mousse-like chocolate filling in a crisp pie crust. It’s elegant, rich, and perfect for chocolate lovers and special occasions alike.

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-baked pie crust (homemade or store-bought, traditional or cookie-based)
  • 4 oz unsweetened or semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs (use pasteurized eggs for safety)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for sweetening whipped cream)
  • Chocolate shavings or curls (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Continue beating for several minutes until the mixture is silky and airy.
  4. Spoon the filling into the prepared pie crust and smooth the top.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight until fully set.
  6. Optional: Before serving, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form and spread or pipe over the pie.
  7. Garnish with chocolate shavings or curls and serve chilled.

Notes

Use pasteurized eggs to ensure food safety. For deeper flavor, add a splash of espresso or coffee liqueur to the filling.Try a graham cracker or Oreo crust for added flavor.Folding in whipped cream to the filling can make it lighter and mousse-like.Best made a day in advance for proper setting and flavor development.
