Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a decadent dessert that combines creamy cheesecake filling, fresh strawberries, and crispy fried bread. A fun and indulgent twist on a classic treat, these sandwiches offer a warm, gooey center with a crispy exterior. Perfect for impressing guests or satisfying your sweet tooth, this recipe is easy to make and guaranteed to delight.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick bread (preferably white, brioche, or challah)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter version)

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped (or strawberry jam)

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)

  • 2 eggs (for egg wash)

  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)

  • Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)

  • Fresh mint or extra strawberries (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Add heavy cream (or milk) and mix until the filling is spreadable.

  • Assemble the sandwiches: Spread the cream cheese mixture on two slices of bread, top with chopped strawberries (or a thin layer of strawberry jam), and place the other slice of bread on top to form a sandwich. Repeat for the second sandwich.

  • Prepare the egg wash: In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs until well combined.

  • Coat the sandwiches: In a separate shallow bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Dip each sandwich in the egg wash, then press into the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating both sides.

  • Fry the sandwiches: Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Serve: Remove from the pan, place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Slice the sandwiches in half and serve warm, garnished with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, or mint if desired.

Notes

Berry Compote: Swap fresh strawberries for a warm berry compote. Blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries work great for a mixed berry twist.Chocolate Version: Drizzle melted chocolate on top or add chocolate chips to the cream cheese filling for a rich, chocolaty version.Vegan Version: Use dairy-free cream cheese, non-dairy milk, and vegan bread. Swap honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.Banana Cheesecake Sandwiches: Replace strawberries with sliced bananas or mix bananas and strawberries for a fun twist.Baking Option: For a lighter version, bake the sandwiches at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
