With the option to add fresh fruit, granola, or nuts, these bite-sized treats are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth while staying on track with your healthy eating goals.
Ingredients
- For the yogurt mixture:
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla Greek yogurt)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional ingredients:
- 1/2 cup fresh fruit (berries, chopped mango, banana slices, or kiwi work well)
- 1/4 cup granola or chopped nuts (optional for extra crunch)
Instructions
- Prepare the yogurt mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Prepare the fruit (optional): If you’re using fresh fruit, chop it into small pieces. You can use berries, diced mango, banana slices, or any fruit you prefer. This step is optional but adds extra flavor and texture to the yogurt bites.
- Make the yogurt bites: Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper. Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop spoonfuls of the yogurt mixture onto the prepared tray, forming small bite-sized rounds (about the size of a nickel or smaller). If desired, gently press a small piece of fruit into the center of each yogurt bite. You can also top them with a sprinkle of granola, nuts, or seeds for added texture.
- Freeze the yogurt bites: Place the tray in the freezer and let the yogurt bites freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until they are firm and solid.
- Serve: Once the yogurt bites are fully frozen, remove them from the tray and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Serve them immediately, or store them in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding toppings such as mini chocolate chips, chia seeds, or shredded coconut. To make them more colorful, use a variety of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, or kiwi.Adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup based on your preference.
