Description
Garlic Butter Salmon is a quick, flavorful dish where salmon fillets are pan-seared or baked, then coated with a rich garlic butter sauce and fresh herbs. It’s elegant enough for entertaining yet easy enough for weeknights.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Pat salmon fillets dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes until crispy.
- Flip salmon and cook another 2–3 minutes, until nearly cooked through.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, add butter, and let it melt.
- Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add lemon juice and spoon garlic butter sauce over salmon.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or dill and serve warm.
- Alternative: Bake salmon at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, then pour garlic butter sauce over before serving.
Notes
Wild-caught salmon gives the best flavor, but farmed salmon works well too.Don’t move salmon in the pan until it naturally releases to avoid sticking. For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the butter. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center.
