Description
Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a fast and flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp, al dente pasta, and a buttery garlic sauce with fresh lemon and herbs. It’s simple, elegant, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter (plus more as needed)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add more butter if needed. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add lemon juice, lemon zest, and reserved pasta water. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together until evenly coated.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in fresh parsley and top with Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.For a creamy variation, stir in 1/4 cup heavy cream .Pre-cooked shrimp can be used—just warm them through at the end.Add cherry tomatoes, spinach, or mushrooms for extra veggies.Serve with a side of crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
