- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Lime wedges
- Jalapeños or pickled jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- For the steak: Season the steak with chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side, then remove and let rest before slicing thinly.
- For the queso: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, add flour, and whisk for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk and bring to a simmer, thickening the sauce. Stir in cheese, cayenne (if desired), and salt. Adjust with more milk if needed.
