Description

Gooey Brownie Pie is the ultimate dessert for chocolate lovers, featuring a rich, fudgy brownie baked into a crispy pie crust. This indulgent treat combines the best of a brownie and pie, offering a gooey, chocolatey filling with a crunchy crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • For the base:
    • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • For the brownie filling:
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, or a mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a store-bought pie crust, ensure it’s already in a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Prepare the wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully incorporated. The batter should be thick but smooth.
  5. Add the chocolate chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour into the crust: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft and gooey. Check with a toothpick—if it comes out with a few moist crumbs, it’s ready. If it’s clean, it may be overbaked.
  8. Cool and serve: Allow the pie to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Nutty Brownie Pie: Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.Mint Chocolate Brownie Pie: Add peppermint extract and mint chocolate chips for a minty twist.Caramel Brownie Pie: Swirl caramel sauce into the batter for a gooey surprise.Peanut Butter Brownie Pie: Add peanut butter or peanut butter chips for extra richness.
