Description

These Gooey Maple Cinnamon Blondies are a decadent dessert with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. Made with maple syrup, cinnamon, and brown sugar, they offer a soft, chewy texture and a crispy top. With a drizzle of maple glaze, these blondies are an irresistible treat perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

For the Blondies:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

For the Maple Glaze (optional):

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • 12 teaspoons milk (or water), to thin

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. Prepare the Blondie Batter:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Stir until well combined.

    • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

    • If using, fold in the white chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

  3. Bake the Blondies:

    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). The blondies will continue to firm up as they cool.

    • Let the blondies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  4. Make the Maple Glaze (Optional):

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk or water until smooth and pourable.

    • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies for an extra touch of sweetness and shine.

  5. Serve:

  • Slice the blondies into squares or bars and serve. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature!

Notes

Add Chocolate Chips: If you love chocolate, add 1/2 cup of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips to the batter for a chocolatey twist.Make it Nut-Free: Omit the pecans or walnuts for nut-free blondies.Spice It Up: For extra warmth, add 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger or nutmeg to the batter.Maple Pecan Blondies: For a more intense maple flavor, add chopped toasted pecans to the batter and drizzle extra maple syrup on top of the baked blondies.Gluten-Free: Swap the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend to make these blondies gluten-free.
