Description

This Greek meatloaf is a Mediterranean twist on a classic comfort dish, made with ground meat, herbs, garlic, and feta cheese. Juicy, flavorful, and easy to prepare, this baked meatloaf is perfect for a hearty family dinner


Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh oregano or 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 12 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, and milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Add feta cheese, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to distribute evenly without overmixing.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the top.
  • Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until fully cooked and lightly browned.
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender and juicy.Add grated zucchini or spinach for extra moisture and nutrition.Resting the meatloaf helps it firm up for cleaner slices.
