Description

Grilled Chicken Drumsticks are juicy, flavorful, and easy to make. Marinated in spices and grilled until crispy and charred, they’re perfect for barbecues, family dinners, or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 810 chicken drumsticks (skin-on)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp chili powder or cayenne pepper
  • Optional: BBQ sauce for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add lemon juice or chili powder for extra flavor if desired.
  2. Pat drumsticks dry and toss them in the marinade until evenly coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375°F–400°F).
  5. Place drumsticks on the grill and cook for 25–30 minutes, turning every 5–7 minutes to cook evenly and prevent burning.
  6. Optional: Brush with BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of grilling.
  7. Check for doneness using a meat thermometer—internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from grill and let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Add cayenne or hot sauce for a spicy version.Use soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for an Asian-style marinade.Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 35–40 minutes if you don’t have a grill.Use indirect heat after crisping the skin for juicier drumsticks.Let leftovers cool completely before storing in the fridge or freezer.
