Description
Grilled peaches are a simple yet delightful dessert or side dish that brings out the natural sweetness and flavor of the fruit. Grilling intensifies the natural sugars, giving the peaches a smoky, sweet, and juicy taste.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- Fresh mint or thyme for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat. If using a gas grill, heat to around 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. You can leave the skin on for a rustic look and added texture, or peel the peaches if preferred.
- Brush the cut sides of the peaches with olive oil or melted butter. This will help them caramelize and prevent sticking to the grill.
- Place the peach halves, cut side down, on the grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes, or until you see grill marks and the peaches soften slightly.
- Flip the peaches over and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes until they are tender and lightly charred.
- Once grilled, remove the peaches from the grill. Drizzle with honey for added sweetness, sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon, and garnish with fresh mint or thyme, if desired.
- Serve the grilled peaches warm on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious summer treat.
Notes
For a spicy twist, sprinkle the peaches with chili powder or cayenne pepper before grilling.Grilled peaches can also be served in salads, on top of yogurt, or as a sundae with ice cream.Leftover grilled peaches can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated on the grill or in the microwave. You can grill other fruits like nectarines, plums, or pineapple for variety.
