Description

Grilled Tilapia is a light, healthy, and flavorful dish that’s quick and easy to prepare. With a mild, flaky texture and perfectly seasoned with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and lemon juice, it’s ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or summer cookout. Serve with your favorite sides for a well-rounded meal that’s both delicious and nutritious.

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 4 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • Prepare the grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F). If using a grill pan, heat it on the stovetop over medium-high heat.

  • Season the tilapia:
Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel to help the seasoning stick. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush the tilapia fillets with the seasoning mixture on both sides, making sure they’re evenly coated.

  • Grill the tilapia:
Place the tilapia fillets on the grill or grill pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. If using a grill, consider using a fish basket or foil to prevent the fillets from falling apart. Be careful not to overcook; tilapia cooks quickly.

  • Serve:
Remove the tilapia from the grill and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges for extra freshness.

Notes

For an extra citrusy flavor, marinate the tilapia in lime or orange juice with olive oil and garlic for 15-30 minutes before grilling.Add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for a more aromatic flavor. If you like a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning. For easy grilling, you can wrap the tilapia fillets in foil and cook for 10-12 minutes.
