Description

Ground Beef & Potatoes is a hearty, one-pan meal made with seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and savory spices. It’s a budget-friendly and comforting dish that’s quick to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 34 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or cooking oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Optional: 1 bell pepper, diced
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced potatoes and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and brown.
  3. Push the potatoes to one side and add ground beef and chopped onion to the pan. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Stir to combine all ingredients in the skillet.
  5. Continue cooking for another 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are fully tender and everything is well-seasoned.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve hot, topped with chopped parsley or shredded cheese if desired.

Notes

Add shredded cheese at the end for a cheesy variation.Use chili flakes or hot sauce for a spicy version.Mix in other veggies like peas, corn, or spinach for added nutrition.Swap regular potatoes with sweet potatoes for a sweeter, healthier version.Top with a fried egg for extra richness.
