Description

Homemade Chocolate Pie with Oreo Crust is a decadent dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie base filled with a rich, silky chocolate custard. Topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, it’s a show-stopping treat perfect for holidays or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 24 Oreo cookies
  • 6 tbsp (85 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) cornstarch
  • 3 cups (720 ml) whole milk
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings or curls (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter.
  2. Press mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then let cool completely.
  3. In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar and cornstarch. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and gently boils.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk egg yolks. Slowly temper them by whisking in some of the hot milk mixture. Return tempered yolks to the saucepan.
  6. Stir in chopped chocolate and cook until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour filling into cooled Oreo crust. Smooth the top and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  8. Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or curls.

Notes

Baking the Oreo crust ensures a sturdier base, but you can chill it for a no-bake option.Add a thin layer of Nutella or peanut butter to the crust before filling for extra flavor.Espresso powder enhances chocolate flavor—add 1 tsp if desired.Freeze the pie (without toppings) for up to 2 months, wrapped tightly.Serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.
