Homemade Ranch Dip is a creamy, tangy dip made with sour cream, mayonnaise, and a blend of herbs and spices. It’s perfect for dipping veggies, chips, or spreading on sandwiches and wraps.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried dill
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/4 tsp dried chives (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste
- 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar (optional, for tang)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, dried parsley, and dried chives if using.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add lemon juice or vinegar for extra tanginess, if desired.
- Mix well until herbs and seasonings are fully incorporated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for a brighter flavor—just triple the amount compared to dried.Make it lighter by substituting Greek yogurt for some or all of the sour cream/mayo.For a spicy version, add cayenne pepper or hot sauce to taste.Dip thickens slightly as it chills—stir before serving if needed.
