Description

The Java Chip Frappuccino is a creamy, indulgent coffee beverage blending iced coffee, chocolate chips, and milk into a sweet, refreshing treat. Perfect for coffee lovers and chocolate fanatics, this homemade version is just as delicious as the Starbucks classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup brewed coffee (cooled) or 1 shot of espresso
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole, almond, oat, or your choice of milk)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Additional chocolate chips or chocolate syrup (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the cooled coffee (or espresso), ice cubes, milk, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and sugar (if using). Blend until smooth and creamy, with the chocolate chips well-distributed.
  2. If the frappuccino is too thick, add more milk. If it’s too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
  3. Pour the blended Java Chip Frappuccino into a tall glass. Top with whipped cream and drizzle extra chocolate syrup on top for added sweetness.
  4. Garnish with extra chocolate chips or sprinkles, and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

For a decaf version, use decaffeinated coffee or coffee substitute. To make it vegan, use plant-based milk and ensure the chocolate syrup and chips are dairy-free.Add extra chocolate syrup or cocoa powder for a more intense chocolate flavor. For a non-coffee version, substitute coffee with extra milk or chocolate milk. For extra creaminess, add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
