The Korean Beef Bowl is a quick, flavorful dish made with ground beef cooked in a savory-sweet Korean-inspired sauce, served over steamed rice with your choice of vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced or grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice, for serving
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
- Steamed or sautéed vegetables (e.g., broccoli, carrots, spinach), optional
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in minced garlic and ginger. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef.
- Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
- Serve over bowls of steamed rice, topped with sesame seeds and your choice of vegetables.
