Loaded Nachos are a fun and flavorful dish made with layers of crispy tortilla chips, melted cheese, seasoned meat, and fresh toppings. Perfect for sharing at parties, game nights, or casual dinners, they’re endlessly customizable and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 cup black beans (optional)
- 1 jalapeño, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes or salsa
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup guacamole or 1 avocado, diced
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, cut into wedges (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken until browned. Drain excess fat, add taco seasoning and water, and simmer until combined.
- Spread a layer of tortilla chips on a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish.
- Sprinkle half the cheese over the chips. Add seasoned meat, black beans, jalapeños, and red onion. Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and top with diced tomatoes or salsa, sour cream, guacamole or avocado, and chopped cilantro.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
For extra crispiness, add cheese directly on chips before layering other toppings.Customize toppings to taste—olives, corn, or pickled onions are great additions.Layering ensures better topping distribution and flavor in each bite.Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crisp texture.
