Description

A tender, flavorful slow-cooked chicken dish made with ranch seasoning, au jus mix, butter, and tangy pepperoncini peppers. Mississippi Chicken is a simple, comforting Southern-style meal that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet au jus gravy mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons pepperoncini juice (from the jar)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Top with butter, pepperoncini peppers, and pepperoncini juice.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and stir to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or sandwich rolls.
