Description
Peach Dumplings are a warm, gooey dessert made with crescent roll dough wrapped around juicy peaches, baked in a buttery cinnamon-sugar syrup and finished with lemon-lime soda for a caramel-like sauce. Easy, comforting, and perfect served with vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cans crescent roll dough (8 rolls total)
- 8 fresh or canned peach slices (peeled and pitted if fresh)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)
- Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- If using canned peaches, drain them. If using fresh, peel and slice them into wedges.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
- Place one peach slice at the wide end of each dough triangle and roll it up, tucking the ends in slightly.
- Arrange the rolled dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined but do not boil.
- Pour the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the dumplings.
- Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the dish—avoid pouring directly on top of the dumplings.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream.
