Ingredients
- 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar (optional, for topping)
- Chocolate ganache (optional, for topping)
- Chopped peanuts (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth, then let cool slightly.
- Whisk the peanut butter into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
- Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan and slicing.
Notes
A slight dip in the center is normal and adds to the fudgy texture.Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest result.Serve chilled for extra fudginess or at room temperature for softer slices.Extra peanut butter can be swirled on top before baking for a marbled look.
