Description

PF Chang’s Lettuce Wraps are a quick, flavorful dish featuring savory ground chicken, crunchy water chestnuts, and a rich Asian-inspired sauce, served in crisp lettuce cups. Perfect as an appetizer or light meal, they’re healthy, satisfying, and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 head Butter or Bibb lettuce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart, until no longer pink, about 5–6 minutes.
  4. Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix well to coat evenly.
  5. Add chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  7. Spoon the chicken mixture into individual lettuce leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

Use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.Try ground turkey, beef, or tofu as substitutes for chicken.Add mushrooms or shredded carrots for extra texture.Top with chopped peanuts or sesame seeds for crunch.Keep lettuce separate until ready to serve to maintain freshness.
