Description

Pontoon dip is a rich, cheesy, and savory appetizer made with sausage, cream cheese, and melty cheeses. Perfect for parties, game day, or lakeside gatherings, this warm and hearty dip is a crowd-pleaser served with tortilla chips or crackers.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced green chilies or jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Tortilla chips or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, cooked sausage, cheddar, mozzarella, green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Transfer mixture to a baking dish or slow cooker.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes (or cook in slow cooker on low for 2 hours) until bubbly and golden.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions.
  6. Serve hot with tortilla chips or crackers.
